Aire Libre at the Marina del Rey Film Festival

Contra-Tiempo's Aire Libre is screening at the 2026 Marina del Rey Film Festival - and we want you there with us.

About the Film

Aire Libre is an embodied, activist dance film rooted in afro-latin diaspora, public space, and the radical act of moving together - outside, together, in the open air. Created by Erin Cooney in collaboration with CONTRA-TIEMPO Activist Dance Theater, East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice, poet Rocío Carlos, and vocalists Carmina Escobar and Joung-A Monica Yum, the film asks: what does it look and feel like to reclaim the spaces we move through? What does it mean to dance somewhere not "meant for us"?

Fierce. Physical. Communal. Aire Libre is a declaration that our bodies belong everywhere.
